Obtaining a PESEL number

During the registration procedure of your current address, you may also obtain a PESEL number. This is the easiest way to obtain a PESEL number.

Note: if you move to a new place, you will have to register at each new address of your current residence. However, the PESEL number is issued once, no matter how many times you move.

If for some reason you cannot register your current address, it is possible to obtain a PESEL number without registration.

If necessary, an employee of the Welcome Centre can accompany you during your visit to the Office (in particular, if this will be your first visit to the District Office).

Please contact the Welcome Centre for help in obtaining a PESEL number. All applications must be completed in the Polish language. You may receive help in completing this or any other applications.
