Registration of address (Zameldowanie, in Polish language)
Each person (Polish citizen or foreigner) must register their current address if they plan to stay longer than 30 days (people from outside the European Union) or longer than 90 days (people from the European Union).
Place of settling the matter: District Office (Urząd Dzielnicy, in Polish language)
There is no zoning - this means that you can register your current address at any district office. The closest one to the Institute is District Office Warszawa Mokotów (Rakowiecka 25/27, 02-517 Warsaw).
Required documents:
non-EU citizen:
1) passport (with a visa) and residence card (if you have it / applies to persons with a temporary or permanent residence permit in Poland )
2) rental agreement
3) a completed application in Polish
EU citizen:
1) ID from home country
2) rental agreement
3) a completed application in Polish
Registration of address is free of charge, the costs for issuing of a paper certificate (document confirming registration at the address) is 17 PLN.
It is not obligatory to have a paper confirmation of registration. A person may ask for this paper confirmation at a later date if needed.
Note: one should re-register his/her current address every time after moving to a new place.
This means that you will have to fill out the form again and visit the District Office in order to register your current address. Also, remember to notify the Human Resources department each time you change your address.
